The Camosun Chargers, in partnership with Rogers TV, are excited to announce that all basketball and volleyball home games will be broadcast on Rogers South Vancouver Island community channel for the 2024-25 season. This collaboration aims to increase accessibility for Chargers fans to watch games and increase visibility in the South Island community.
The Chargers and Rogers TV are working together to increase the entertainment value for Chargers fans on their television or laptop. The broadcast will feature live game commentators, instant replays, and high-quality graphics.
“We are excited to partner with a community-focused company like Rogers. Their commitment to bringing local sports coverage to Southern Vancouver Island is important to the Chargers, and also the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) league,” said Scot Cuachon, Manager of Athletics & Student Life. “Together we look to increase the reach of our home games while making it accessible for anyone to watch.”
“Rogers TV is excited to partner with 91AV in carrying the Chargers home basketball and volleyball game broadcasts this season,” said Paul McLellan, Rogers TV Access Coordinator. “Our South Vancouver Island community TV channel is proud to bring viewers a front row seat for local sports, where they can join us in supporting these talented collegiate athletes.”
The first Camosun Chargers home games will be broadcast on Rogers TV on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6pm for the women’s volleyball game; the men play at 8pm.
All Camosun Chargers home games can be live streamed on the or on Rogers TV, channel 4 or 105. Full team rosters and schedules can be found on the Chargers website.
The Camosun Chargers Athletics Program currently fields teams in basketball and volleyball. Since joining the Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) and PACWEST conferences in 1994, the Chargers have competed in over 100 national and provincial championships with over 50 medal winning finishes.
Rogers TV (formerly Shaw) is a free-access program that gives community organizations access to local television audiences. Each Rogers TV community channel is focused on a local region and its people, issues, arts, and culture.
