Camosun notification process after testing positive for COVID-19:

  • Employeeswho test positive for COVID-19 should email theirworkplace leader andOHS@camosun.caadvising when and where they were last on campus, and when they tested positive.
  • Studentswho test positive for COVID-19 should email theirinstructor(s) advising when and where they were last on campus, and when they tested positive. Instructors are asked to pass the information on to their Chair who then informsOHS@camosun.ca.

Determining your safe return date to campus after testing positive for COVID-19:

If you arefully vaccinated, you must wait until after ending required self-isolation:

  • at least five (5) days have passed since your symptoms started;

Or

  • at least five (5) days have passed since your positive test date if you do not have symptoms;

And

  • Fever has resolved for 24 hours without medication and symptoms have improved.

If you arenot fully vaccinated, you must wait until after ending required self-isolation:

  • At least ten (10) days have passed since your symptoms started;

Or

  • At least ten (10) days have passed since your positive test date if you did not have symptoms;

And

  • Fever has resolved for 24 hours without medication and symptoms have improved.

The 91AVCommunicable Disease Prevention Guidelineshave been updated along with anappendixdetailing what to do if an employee tests positive for COVID-19, or another communicable disease, or if a student or employee discloses they have tested positive.

Studentscan book a video or phone appointment with the Camosun Counselling Centre at 250 370-3571 if feeling stressed or anxious as a result of positive test result.

Employeeshave access to many resources to assist with maintaining their mental wellbeing, including the college’sEmployee and Family Assistance Programoffered through. With respect toreimbursementof professional services fees to visit a psychologist or clinical counsellor, coverage will vary dependent upon employment group and employment status. Please refer to yourto determine what coverage is available to you.
