Peer Pods

Join the Peer Pods Program, a student support initiative facilitated by students, for students!

What is Peer Pods?

Peer Pods are sessions led by Camosun students.

Each week you’ll meet for one hour in small groups called ‘pods’.

The dynamics of each session will vary depending on the topic but you can always expect fun activities, good conversation, and interesting guest speakers.

Weekly sessions alternate between:

  • Skill-buildingactivities: Learn strategies for academic success, emotional resilience, healthy habits, and balancing school, work, and life.
  • Social hangouts:Pod hangouts are a safe and comfortable place to talk about college life. It's a great way to meet people who are going through many of the same experiences you are.

Why join?

  • Build a strong support network with fellow students.
  • Discover college resources to help you succeed.
  • Share your experience with others and help improve the student experience and support for other students.
  • Access unique events and opportunities on and off campus.
  • Learn to articulate your academic strengths and identify strategies for growth.
  • Discover practical and realistic time management strategies to help you achieve work-school-life balance

Ayomide

Hello! I am a Human Resources and Leadership student, and it has been an awesome experience at 91AV. I am looking forward to sharing them with you!I generally love the outdoors and hanging out with friends. One thing about me is that I love exploring other people’s food and culture and just typically seeing the world through people’s lenses. If this is your first time in Camosun, I would like to say a big welcome to you, and I hope you have as wonderful time as I am having. If you are a returning student, it is good to have you, and I am excited to hear how this school has transformed you.

In the words of Amy Poehler – “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.

Max

Hi everyone! I’m Max, a Post-Degree Diploma Marketing student here at Camosun. I was born and raised here in beautiful Victoria, and when I’m not in class or working, you can find me outside exploring trails and lakes. I am a huge animal lover and often bring my cat Vinny out and about with me. I’m always looking for new music recommendations and (trying) to learn the guitar. Let me know your favorites! I’m looking forward to meeting you all and welcoming you to Camosun!

Hello, Hola! My name is Regina, and I am in my second year of Pre-Social Work.I love being outdoors and getting to know new people. I moved in here a year ago, and I’m loving Victoria. I also love sports, animals, and getting to know new cultures. I can’t wait to share all the best tips about Camosun and, of course, the best Mexican restaurants in Victoria. If you are already a Camosun student, welcome back. Keep up the good work; you are AMAZING. If you are a new student, see you soon, and don’t be nervous about your first year. I’m sure you will be AWESOME! Welcome home, new and coming back students; we are waiting for you with arms and our hearts open!

Juan

My name is Juan, and I am in the Business Administration, Bachelor's Degree - Accounting Major program. It has been an amazing experience for me so far; here at 91AV, I have met wonderful people that I consider family today. I am originally from Panama, but I have been living here since 2023. I am an extroverted person who is easy to talk to. I love dancing, swimming, and sharing food with people. I am looking forward to meeting you and having a wonderful experience together.

Brett

My name is Brett Beauchamp, and I am in the Business Administration - Accounting (Diploma) program. I grew up on the island my whole life, and I love the beauty it has around us. Camosun has given me many opportunities to do amazing things and jumpstart my career. My hope is that you can get the same benefits from the school as I have, with the right information and the ability to ask questions. I love learning about new cultures and backgrounds, and I enjoy travelling (alone or with friends.) I enjoy Hockey, Lacrosse, and Rugby, but I grew up playing almost every sport. My days are spent mostly outside walking or watching a sunset. Lastly, my biggest hobby is cooking; if you have any recipes I can try, feel free to send them to me. I look forward to meeting all of you and will happily listen to whatever troubles you may have. Welcome all!
